KINDER IS INVITED BY GRACEN'S FAMILY TO JOIN THEM ON SAN GERONIMO'S FEAST DAY: Friday at Taos Pueblo
We are invited to be attending San Geronimo's and visit with Gracen's family on Friday. What a wonderful way to celebrate together. If you are planning to attend, please email or message me so we can meet up around 3pm on the north side of the Pueblo where the "Aspen Leaf Tree House" is located, directly underneath. This is where Gracen's family celebrates the feast day and where they plan to see us. I am so grateful for them to embrace us on this unique celebration day of harvest and community. I attached Chenoa's, Gracen's mom's letter with more detailed information here. Thank you for your hospitality, Chenoa and Jaro.
Here is Chenoa and Jaro's personal invitation!
Greetings TISA Kinder Families,
I hope things are going well for you all as we go forth with
our school year! We are Chenoa Velarde and Jaro Jackson, parent of Gracen
Jackson. As you all know, the Fall season in Taos is an exciting time at Taos
Pueblo as we get ready for winter with our harvest celebrations! One of them
being San Geronimo Feast Day, which is held every year on September 30th.
I want to extend my welcome to you all by inviting you to join us in our unique
celebration of harvest, togetherness, and tradition. There will be ceremonial
foot races beginning early on Friday morning starting at 7ish. Later that afternoon, there will be many arts and crafts
vendors, food vendors, and cultural activities performed by tribal members
during the afternoon. Please be conscious of the strict cell phone usage on
this day. We would like to share with our community and continue to provide our
visitors with the opportunity to engage in these cultural traditions. Please
remember that our Taos Pueblo community view our traditional activities as
ceremonial and sacred. We respectfully ask for your cooperation. We welcome our
Taos community!
Best,
Chenoa Velarde
Jaro Jackson
*If planning to attend, ask for “Mike Concha Family
Residence”. It is located on the North side of the Pueblo where the “Aspen Leaf
Tree House” is located, directly underneath. This is where our family
celebrates the feast day where we plan to feed family and friends throughout
the day. Thanks!
KINDER PIZZA FORM -- Pizza day will be this Thursday. Please email or message me if I missed anything. Remember to still pack snack and a light lunch for your child. Thank you!

TISA Facilities Meeting: Tuesday, September 27, 4pm
Your opinion is valued! Please respond to the poll questions if you haven't yet by Monday, Sept. 26.
The next Facilities Committee Meeting will be next Tuesday, September 27 at 4pm at the Manzaneres campus with childcare provided until 5:30. Please join/chime in if you can.
Here are the questions that the committee would like to poll parents about in regards to next year's campus:
1. If we can stay at Manzaneres another year and buy more time for funding and construction would you mind waiting a year to move onto the permanent campus?
2. If the Manzaneres campus is not an option, would you be willing to move to another location (if it exists) or would you want to move to the permanent campus on Toalne by Fall of 2017 instead, even if your student may be in portable classrooms? (see explanation below)
3. Would you like to move to the permanent campus on Toalne by Fall of 2017 no matter what the construction of the facilities?
Pizza day kick-off: Thursday, Sept 29 (Please remember to pack a snack, even if your child ordered pizza.)
Please note: to ease the pain of last-minute headaches, the pizza money in kindergarten will be due the week BEFORE. I will do my best to post a monthly reminder for you. I recommend prepaying for a few months ahead (or for the whole year, if you can think/budget that far!) Kinder will be accepting pizza money ONLY in the designated envelope beginning the week before through TUESDAY morning. Believe me, this is in everyone's best interest! It will save teachers and children many a crocodile tear to follow the guidelines.

Monday Catch-up
Hi All,
Just a few things to catch up on...
Lexia is our reading program that I sent home student usernames and passwords for. I understand that you are not able to get on from home.
Unfortunately every computer I work on is under TISA's server, but here is what might work:
Then you might need to type in my username: jutka@tisataos.org (=my school email account)
Your child's username is their first name (with lowercase letters only) and the password for every student is lexia (all lowercase).
Hope this helps.
If not, please let me know so I can contact Lexia's support line.
Pizza Thursday is NEXT Thursday! If you already brought your child's pizza money in, I will certainly have it saved for next week. However, please pack them a hearty lunch for THIS Thursday! Thanks!
I apologize about the confusion regarding snacks for this week. Let's start with Gracen next Monday. I think we'll be fine until then with what we have in stock.
We are going to the library tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10:45. Children will need to bring their library card to take a book home.
Finally, please read the questions from the Facilities Committee below. They would like to know what you think regarding the transition to TISA's new campus. I will be happy to hear from you and clarify further.
"Here are the questions that we would like to poll parents' opinions about in regards to next year's campus:

Thank you for your support.
See you tomorrow.
