FIRST GRADE SUPPLY LIST



Welcome to a thunder of first grade TISA dragons! 

HERE IS YOUR FIRST GRADE SUPPLY LIST. Let’s do this!

Most of these items are available in town or on Amazon. Please email me if you have questions at jutka@tisataos.org


INDIVIDUAL SUPPLIES TO BRING IN AUGUST
PLEASE LABEL EACH ITEM
3-ring binder (size: 1.5-2")
1 reusable plastic envelope
1 set of ear buds
1 sketch book (9”x12” or similar size) spiral is hard)
1 lunch box (for lunch) and
1 separate snack pouch (for snack)
1 water bottle
If you are new to TISA or feel that you need a new set:
1 box Faber-Castell Beeswax Crayons by Faber-Castell (usually available at Twirl or at Amazon.com) - 12 or 24 ct.

SHARED  SUPPLIES TO BRING IN AUGUST
This item is different for each student. Please refer to your paper copy or contact Jutka about it.

1 box of Prang watercolors
1 box of Crayola twistable crayons (not pencils)

SHARED  SUPPLIES TO BRING IN OCTOBER
1 package foam sheets (without sticky back)
e.g. Elmer's Foam-sheets 5-1/2-by-8-1/2-inch 50-pack, Rainbow Colors
1 package of
card stock paper (white or pastel colors)
1 skein of heavy weight (worsted / bulky) yarn
1 milk crate
1 Sterilite basket (12,5”x85/8”x53/8”)

1 box of quart size Ziploc baggies

Final Hoot

Let's have a stellar last week of school!
Thank you for sharing your child with TISA this year!


This week is SPIRIT WEEK.
Here is the schedule:
Monday - TISA Dragon Day- wear orange & green to show your TISA pride!
Tuesday Superhero Day- dress like your favorite superhero! 
Wednesday - Wacky Hair or Hat Day- wear your favorite crazy hat or do your hair extra wacky!
Thursday - Aloha Day- Say farewell to a great school year and hello to summer! Hawaiian, beach & summer attire!

And the last field trip line-up:
Monday: 9:30 field trip to tattoo studio
Tuesday: 12:30 Raptor Center coming to TISA

Tuesday: 2:30 field trip to Fire Station
Wednesday am (9-12ish): Field Day at Kit Carson Park
Wednesday 2pm: Gardening with Nikki at Parr Field
Thursday: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL -- 2:00pm potluck at school 

Here is a sweet idea for a keepsake: BRING IN A BOOK TO SIGN!

Every year have your child’s teachers/coaches/baby sitters/best friends sign a favorite book. Then give it as a high school graduation gift!

Hoot 34

Endless excitement in kinder!

This week's events:
Monday 2pm: STUDENTS OF THE MONTH CEREMONY.
We will be celebrating Annabella, Gracen and Timothy! Way to shine!
Tuesday: pizza money is due
Tuesday: walking field trip to library (students will be bringing their library cards home)
Wednesday: Meet a local artist! Walking field trip to Tattoo Studio
Thursday: last pizza day!

Next week is our last week of the school year!
May 22: take home all belongings and clean out cubbies.
May 24 (Wednesday): Please join us for Field Day at Kit Carson Park
May 25 (Thursday): Last day of school picnic at Kit Carson Park. Join us for games and kinder end-of-year certificates. (Time to be announced.)
Also report cards and last conference sign-up sheet coming during the last couple weeks!

You are welcome to help this week and next week packing up our room (boxes and packing tape are also great to have). Thank you for your support! Can't wait to set up base on our permanent campus!

Here is a sweet idea for a keepsake: BRING IN A BOOK TO SIGN!  Every year you could have your child’s teachers/coaches/baby sitters/best friends sign the book “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss (or any book you wish). Then you could give it as their high school graduation gift! If you’d like to start this tradition for your kiddo, please bring in a book (with a note that says if you’d like to keep it a secret or not).

Hoot 33 -- Packed with Action!

What an action packed month April was! The last month of school will be no less eventful. We will be starting kinder's end-of-year assessment this week. If your child is healthy, please have them attend school during this time and make sure that they work on Lexia at home at least 40 minutes each week in May.

MAY 11 (Thursday) 8:30-2:00 AMOLE CANYON FIELD TRIP
This week's off-campus field trip will be to Amole Canyon. Chaperons are welcome to drive their own vehicles. Please let me know if you plan on joining us. There will be a field trip check list coming home. Also, please fill out the field trip form by WEDNESDAY. Please double check that I have a form from you, Miguel, Sebastian and Gracen. We cannot take children on a field trip that requires transportation without completed field trip forms.

BOXES AND PACKING TAPE NEEDED
We are packing up the classes for moving onto our permanent campus. Please bring boxes and tape to help.

MAY 20 MASQUARADE BALL
Masquerade Ball: Friends of TISA is hosting a masquerade ball to raise money for the new campus. Please join us on Saturday, May 20th7-10pm at the Taos Mesa Brewery, featuring a silent auction of original masks by local artists including Jim Wagner, Maya Torres and Tracy Turner, Big Swing Theory, and prizes for best costumes! Come support TISA! This is an adult only event. Tickets are $12 before the event and $15 at the door.
